দেবাশীষ ঘোষঃ-আজ ইংরেজি গ্রামারের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টপিক নিয়ে আপনাদের সামনে হাজির হয়েছি। আপনারা যারা English Movie দেখেন এবং English Song বা Conversation শুনেন তারা অবশ্যই খেয়াল করে থাকবেন যে, এসব Movie/Conversation গুলোতে প্রায়ই Wanna, Gonna, Gotta, Outta, Ain’t, এরকম অনেক সংক্ষিপ্ত ইংরেজি শব্দ ব্যবহৃত হয়। এগুলো যখন আমরা প্রথমবার দেখে বা শুনে থাকি তখন আমাদের মনে প্রায়ই প্রশ্ন জাগে Wanna, Gonna, Gotta, Outta, Ain’t এসবের আবার মানে কি বা এগুলোর পূর্ণরুপ কি?? যাইহোক, আজ আমরা এরকম ৪০ টি ইংরেজি সংক্ষিপ্ত শব্দ নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করবো। তবে জেনে রাখা ভাল যে Wanna, Gonna, Gotta, Outta, Ain’t এ জাতীয় শব্দগুলো Conversation বা কথোপকথনের ক্ষেত্রেই বেশী ব্যবহৃত হয়। তো চলুন আজই সবগুলো সংক্ষিপ্ত ইংরেজি শব্দের অর্থ ও ব্যবহার শিখে নিই।
1. “Gonna” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Gonna” শব্দটি “going to” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রুপ। এটি দ্বারা বর্তমান বা নিকট ভবিষ্যতে কোনো কাজ করতে বা হতে যাচ্ছে বুঝায়। ধরুন, কোনো একটি কাজ যেটি সম্পন্ন হয় নি, কিন্তু বর্তমানে সম্পন্ন হতে যাচ্ছে কিংবা অল্প কিছুক্ষনের মধ্যে সেটি সম্পন্ন হবে বুঝাতে “gonna” ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমি আমার সম্পর্কে কিছু বলতে যাচ্ছি।
> I’m gonna say something about myself.
> I am going to say something about myself.
2. সে এখন কি করতে যাচ্ছে?
> What’s she gonna do now?
> What is she going to do now?
2. “Gotta” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Gotta” শব্দটি “have to/ have got to” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রুপ। এর দ্বারা বাধ্যবাধকতা বুঝায় অর্থাৎ কোনো কাজ বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে করতে হবে, এড়িয়ে যাওয়ার সুযোগ নেই, এরূপ বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমাকে যেতে হবে।
> I gotta go.
> I have to go / I have got to go.
2. তোমায় আমাকে সাহায্য করতে হবে।
> You gotta help me.
> You have to help me / You have got to help me.
3. “Wanna” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Wanna” শব্দটি “want to” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ। শব্দটি দ্বারা কোনো কিছু করতে চাওয়া বুঝায়।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমি ক্রিকেট খেলতে চাই।
> I wanna play Cricket.
> I want to play Cricket.
2. আমি এখানে থাকতে চাই না।
> I don’t wanna stay here.
> I don’t want to stay here.
4. “Gimme” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Gimme” শব্দটি “give me” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ। কাউকে কোনো কিছু দেওয়া অর্থে শব্দটি ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. দয়া করে আপনার বইটি আমাকে দিন।
> Gimme your book, please.
> Give me your book, please.
2. আমাকে কিছু খেতে দিন।
> Gimme something to eat.
> Give me something to eat.
5. “Lemme” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Lemme” শব্দটি “let me” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ। কোনো কাজ করতে অনুমতি চাওয়া বা দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে “let me” ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমাকে তোমায় ভালবাসতে দাও।
> Lemme love you.
> Let me love you.
2. আমাকে যেতে দাও।
> Lemme go there.
> Let me go there.
6. “Kinda” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Kinda” শব্দটি “kind of” শব্দের সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ, যার অর্থ হলো “ধরণ বা প্রকার”।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমি এক প্রকার তাকে পছন্দ করি।
> I kinda like her.
> I kind of like her.
2. তুমি এক ধরণের বেকুব।
> You are a kinda stupid.
> You are a kind of stupid.
7. “Outta” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Outta” শব্দটির পূর্ণরূপ হলো “out of” যার অর্থ দাড়ায় “কোনো স্থান ত্যাগ করা”।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমি চলে যাচ্ছি।
> I’m outta here.
> I am out of here.
2. কলমটি বাক্সের বাহিরে।
> The pen is outta box.

ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Oughta” শব্দটির পূর্ণরূপ হলো “ought to” যার অর্থ হলো “উচিৎ”।

9. “Lotta বা Lotsa” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Lotta বা Lotsa” শব্দটি “lot of বা lots of” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ, যার অর্থ হলো “অনেক বা প্রচুর”।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমার অনেক টাকা দরকার।
> I need lotsa money.
> I need lots of money.
2. এই কাজটি শেষ করতে অনেক সময় লাগবে।
> It needs lotta time to complete the work.
> It needs lot of time to complete the work.
10. “Shoulda, Coulda ও Woulda” এদের অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Shoulda, Coulda ও Woulda” শব্দগুলোর পূর্ণরূপ হলো যথাক্রমে “should have, could have ও would have”। এদের ব্যবহারগুলো আমরা উদাহরনের মাধ্যমে জেনে নেব।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. আমার কখনো বিয়ে করা উচিৎ হয় নি।
> I shoulda never got married.
> I should have never got married.
2. আমি কখনো বিয়ে করতে পারতাম না।
> I coulda never got married.
> I could have never got married.
3. আমি কখনো বিয়ে করতাম না।
> I woulda never got married.
> I would have never got married.
11. “Dunno” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Dunno” শব্দটির পূর্ণরূপ হলো “don’t know” যার অর্থ হলো “না জানা”।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. তুমি কি এই দুর্ঘটনা সম্পর্কে কিছু বলতে পারবে?
> Can you tell something about the accident?
2. না, আমি জানি না।
> No, I dunno.
> No, I don’t know.
12. “Whatcha” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Whatcha” শব্দটি “What are you” এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ।
উদাহরনগুলো দেখে নিইঃ
1. তুমি এখন কি করতেছো?
> Whatcha doing now?
> What are you doing now?
2. তুমি টেলিভিশনে কি দেখতেছো?
> Whatcha watching on tv?

13. “Ain’t” এর অর্থ কি???
ব্যাখ্যাঃ “Ain’t” বলতে “am not, is not, are not, have not, has not” বুঝায়।

1. I ain’t gonna do it.
> I am not going to do it.
2. He ain’t listening the song.
> He is not listening the song.
3. You ain’t my close friend.
> You are not my close friend.
4. I ain’t done the work.
> I have not done the work.
5. She ain’t got the money to buy the book.
> She has not got the money to buy book.

21. Wouldna = Wouldn’t have
